Just to let you know I bought the cannabis oil you recommended. I've been using it for about a week I think (lost track) and I'm sure it's proving to be beneficial, so thank you.

I've never been a fitness fanatic but I don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. I played golf on a regular basis and never ate take-away sh it. Oh, and I very rarely drink water, bottled or from the tap, which I don't trust at all unless previously boiled. I get my liquid from other sources. Other vthan that, go for it!
Piggy nose. For people like me those sort of comments really hurt. A lot of old people boast about being in good health and never having day off work etc. It's not something to be proud of, it's luck. I worked until retirement and for many years in a lot of pain. I'm not jealous at all, I just get fed up with them boasting as if they're clever.
I don't agree with you Miss T, about it being luck. If people gave just a little attention to their lifestyle, they might see an improvement. I've just told you a little bit about mine but I'm not saying that's the way to do it. People find their thing don't they?
Just as an example, when lots of people get some sort of pain or ache, they're either off to the doctor or stuffing OTC painkillers down themselves. I've never done either. The last time I went to the doctors when when I fell and damaged my shoulder and subsequently had treatment. But that was an accident, entirely my own fault btw, not illness. Lots of people don't do themselves any favours by taking medicines when they don't need to; going to the doctors when they don't need to. I'm proud of the fact that I loooked after myself, and still do. My family laugh at me because I regularly say that I won't be ill. And I won't. I believe that. Honest! It's all in the mind! :o)

I agree with you to an extent, Clarion. I too think some go to the doctor with a sniff and take medicines unnecessarily. However, when illness - or even advanced old age, you being so fit and all that - happens - you will need help. You should never forget that even children may suffer severe conditions. That's not in their minds.
Unfortunately, there will always be illnesses and vulnerable people. I think people who inherit diseases are in the minority and nowhere have I made reference to any particular user in this thread.
I am still of the opinion that many people think they are ill when they are not, and that lifestyle is part of their problem.

There isn't always a correlation between life style and disease, Sometimes it's genetics, and while you may be able to affect how a condition progresses you may not be able to escape its effects entirely. My problems are Asthma. Occupation acquired ( lifestyle). Depression ( biochemical not reactive) and rheumatoid arthritis ( auto immune probably faulty gene they are still doing the research)
I can modify the asthma, and the effects of the RA with diet and lifestyle changes but I can't avoid their effects entirely. It maybe that there is a gene that protects against a lot of the health problems that tend to accompany ageing. It won't make you bullet proof but you are more likely to stay healthier.
Despite being overweight until the RA took hold I exercised five days a week either swimming or the gym, and ate a mostly healthy diet. Poop happens, I drew a short straw.
