Fern Britton

Fern Britton is not a skinny minnie but she always looks so gorgeous!! How does she do it???? Please tips needed as I am probably bigger than her but look dorky not glam!

Hey hun! I'm a big girl altho possibly smaller than Fern, and I'm always told how gorgeous and glamourous I look. I tell ya, and I'm sure Fern would too, its all to do with knowing what looks good on you, what you feel comfortable in and remembering that simple is stylish!!

Most of all having the confidence to carry it off, show a little cleavage if you have it but don't then fiddle with your top all night trying to cover it up! Head up, shoulders back and look people in the eye.

Oh!! Most importantly of all... smile... a lot!! Everyone loves a smile! And it makes people wonder what you've been up to!

(And always make sure your hair looks good, no one likes a tatty head of hair!)

Ok the hair is great! The face is good. Make the most of the eyes!!

I'm not a fan of the clothes but if you feel comfortable in them then fine! Fern wears long flowing clothes as a rule and they flow wonderfully and look very elegant!

Think, my lovely, its just a question of attitude!!

Happy to be of service, my ex always used to get me to vet his new clothes as he valued my opinion!! Alas that was all he valued!! Moving on.... :o)

Quite the opposite, a long skirt teamed with a long but not knee length cardi and a hip length top will a) hide all the unnecessary bits and b) lengthen the body. Waist length tops are a a killer on large girls at the best of times cos it cuts the wobbly bits in half and draws attention to them. If you don't want to go long and flowing then go for slightly longer length tops than you have on in the piccies. V neck tops are good for drawing the eye upwards!!

Never, ever wear trousers that are tapered at the ankle, they'll make you look like a chicken drumstick!!

When you next buy clothes why not try a personal shopper.I have a friend bigger & older than you.She is a personal shopper in Evans & she always looks wonderful.She has ladies who go back to her all the time as she makes them look great

I think Fern is genuinely happy with herself, her husband, her life. She is old enough to not care too much about stupid diets and being skinny and realises that you can have a great and fulfilling life with a sexy husband and great career whether you are big or small. She is content. And she dresses in a flattering way!

Pitstop- you are gorgeous. You have a lovely face and great hair, and sparkly eyes. You look as though I could have a great laugh with you. If I were you, I would wear a bit more make up- some colour wouldn't go amiss. Not bright red lipstick, but, a bit more foundation and powder, some sparkly smoky eyeshadow and lip colour- maybe gloss.

Also I would wear tops that skim your hips a bit- that's what Fern does. Tops that come down to just below belly level. Fern wears quite exotic clothes that are dark - black, grey, plum etc, with sequins and lovely things on! Sparkly clothes are also a good talking point.

But you do look lovely as you are.

You are no where near as big as Fern! You and Fern are both lovely. As the others have said, on the whole I thing it is all about accepting what/who you are and being happy with that.

Fern Britton is obviously happy with her size and good luck to her, its a pity more people aren't like her.

Me, I'm probably about the same size as you and I have tried diet after diet in the last 10/15 years. None have worked (mainly becasue I haven't stuck to them) but I have yet to get to grips with the fact that I will never be thin!

Pitstopbunny, you look fantastic. I wish I had the confidence to let others on here see photographs of me. Fern Britton is a highly paid tv presenter, married to a very rich successful chef. Stylists to make her great on tv. Off screen, she may look a right mess. So just think of that!

I also thin fern britton is attractive, i think its mainly her cheerful manner, she is always smiling and she comes across as a really warm & friendly person then people would like to know.

I also agree with Scarlett about wearing make-up. i think it enhances most women. The body shop do a great selection of make-up & it isn't tested on animals.

By the way, I'm guessing you have been watching 'soapstar superstar'? just thought i'd mention that Lee Ottway (bombhead from hollyoaks) was absolutely amazing, his voice is so beautiful.

As mentioned, a lot of it is about confidence. Fern Britton is always smiling and laughing and that radiates so much passion and warmth.

Hi pitstopbunny you are gorgeous but here goes for what it's worth. You have a confidence in your face (head up, looking at the camera etc) so I think you have the confidence to wear a little more daring clothing. Your dress is lovely but hides your waist, although it does wonders for your cleavage! I have a lovely wrap-over dress from Top Shop which seems to skim over the bad bits. Don't make the mistake of covering your bottom with a top, if you know what I mean. Buy wrap over tops or those with detail around the tummy, like ruching (sp?) to take away from a bigger tummy (like mine!) Buy knee legnth black boots as they hide the leg but look so sexy, then you can wear any kind of this seasons floaty, colourful skirts and show off the boots too. Get some accessories - chunky bangles make arms and hands look smaller and dangly earrings would set off your lovely hair. Treat yourself to a lovely chunky necklace - I find people draw their eyes to unusual jewellery; away from my big bum and legs! You are very pretty but why not use a little make-up - it will give you more confidence. Gosh I sound like a cow but you did ask. xxxxxxxxxx

I would say you need to dress a little younger, put a bit of make up on and get you hair cut and coloured by a really good hairdresser. You look like a mum and thats fine, you could dress better than fern britton cause you must be a 16 tops. Jeans and sexy tops, monsoon and wallis look like they would suit you. by no means are you dowdy
