My daughter's partner has been in hospital fir six hours today. Doctor told him to be taken to hospital, as he had tachycardia, also feeling very unwell. Their young son has had some sort of virus last few days, so we ghought he caught it off of him. He was put on a drip, had ECG, and blood work. Doctor came back with results and said he's got Influenza A, and told him he'll feel rough for the next six days. My daughter brought him home an hour ago. I know its a flu  but is this type worse? Apparently, it's very contagious...

no --- some people get very bad flu like this ( same virus) - my own view is no heavy exercise ( weight lifting running 10m) for the next 8 w. he probably wont feel like it

The tachycardia was caused by being dehydrated.

tachycardia? how high? - boom diddy boom diddy.

( I had, aged 70 - your resting pulse is 140, I cannot possibly allow you to go home) ( uncontrolled AF)

It was brought under control, with him being on a drip. He was very dehydrated. I myself had it about 12 years ago. Had to stay in the night and put on bisoporol.

He's home in bed, not feeling at all well. Has a terrible headache. Not eating. Partner has to keep nagging him to drink water.

I had it years ago - before then I thought flu was a heavy cold.  I was really ill for a week, delirious at times, could hardly get out of bed, then didn't feel right for a good couple of months afterwards.

Yes, there's definitely a difference, Barry..

With real flu, you can't lift your head off the pillow, high temperature  delirious..
