I have just been told that I am suffering from a Frozen Shoulder.

My Doctor tells me that there is no cure or treatment on offer - (other than painkillers) - and that I must be prepared to suffer it for eighteen months.

Apparently after that time it will finally go away by itself.

Has anyone ever managed to find a way of speeding up the healing process - eighteen months seems an awfully long time to wait for relief !

sorry to offer cold comfort (excuse the pun) but I've only just got rid of mine, and it took 2 years. I was told the same by my GP, so looks like you'll have to grin and bare it.
I have heard that this is one of the things that acupuncture is good for. Good luck.
see an osteopathand and a massage therapist
Sorry to disappoint you. I've had two episodes. Both took at least 18 months to resolve themselves and I've known other individuals who've suffered similarly and whose healing times have been the same. Acupuncture helped reduce the pain slightly but did not give any extra movement. Gentle regular exercising was recommended to me and you might find that Deep Heat gel or something similar gives temporary relief but unfortunately there isn't a magic instant cure. You have my sympathy.
I do sympathize with you, I suffered for 9 months before going to the Dr`s because I thought it was "old age" . The Dr gave me very strong Ibuprofen, prescription only, and they were wonderful for the pain, I could move my arm freely after the first tablet. Good luck

I too sympathize. I had a frozen shoulder for most of last year. My GP was useless, said I had strained my tricep muscle and gave me some diclaphenic tablets, they made me feel awful! I took matters into my own hands, went to an osteopath who also gave me acupuncture, that did give some relief. Voltarol gel I found good also. Painkillers, I took Co-Codamol dispersable, max dose!

Keep trying things until you find the combination that helps with the pain.
