I'm going to post this in the Body & Soul as well as the Myth Topics as it applies to both:
Is it true that mouthwashes such as Listerine, Aquafresh, Dentyl etc are actually extremely bad for you in the way that it can cause cancer of the mouth because of the alcohol and chemicals in it?
As they are not meant to be swallowed (due to the alcohol in them) I would imagine the damage they could do, if any, is minimal. I've never heard anything about them being carcinogenic.
The alcohol content of these mouthwashes also exacerbates bad breath, so it sort of wastes your money. There are plenty of alcohol free ones on the market, don't taste as good but you do get used to it. I thought Dentyl was alcohol free.
