Under "storage" in your link it says once opened consume immediately".

These are similar to waht I call roll mops and I hardly know anyone else who likes them :-) I'd go for more of a potted/jarred version if you want them to last, such as

We have a jar of Elsinore pickled herring from Waitrose in the fridge and it says "eat within 7 days of opening".

 

Maybe the fishing industry could issue a definitive statement.

A herring aid if you will.

Oops...you are correct canary. I couldn’t read it in the shop.

Prudie...I've got a pot of that in the fridge...and I've just finished a tub of Mand S rollmops.

Gingebee...I saw those on the Waitrose site but I was put off by the amount of sugar in them.
