Compede is a wonderful product for blisters. It form a very comfortable protective barrier, which stops pain, and also heals. Available at Boots. They do their own brand, but I think Compede is better. Julia.

I know everyone says you shouldn't but I'm a great believer of piercing blisters with a needle. Have always done it and have never had any probs. Pierce a few little holes in it because if you only do one it'll heal up and refill. Whatever you do make sure you keep the skin on the blister as it's very painful exposed.
I must admit I do exactly the same as Happy face, and then apply one of those special plasters you can get for blisters.

Popping a blister can cause the area to become infected, causing more pain and swelling. Usually blisters are absored back into the body after a few days. If you do pop it though, make sure that you dont do it on the top of the blister, and as close to the edge of the swelling as possible, also ensure that you clean the area fully, a solution of hot water and salt is quite good if you dont want to pay for any of the more expensive items from a pharmacy.

If you want to buy something, you can buy one of the many 'second skin' dressings which will seal and protect the blister from knocks. Cover with a small dressing and let it heal itself.
