For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Unfortunately its just another thing we girls have to endure.I have been having them since I was 37 and they do abate.I have tried all the alternative remedies but IMO they along with HRT didnt work.I'm just going cold turkey now - after all thats what most women did years ago.Sorry I cant be of more help but to be honest I sleep on top of the bed with the heating off most of the time - I crawl under a part of the duvet if I wake up but most of me is hanging out the side of the bed:)

I have found loads of things that worked for me briefly
Black cohosh about a year
progestogen cream about 3 years
hrt by patch....about a year but when that stopped working I turned into Kevinette the teenager!!
The other thing about hrt for symptom control is that I understand that whenever you stop taking it, the symptoms return.
Now I am dealing with it "hot turkey" can't add to the good advice that you have been given already. They will pass, also they will get less intense.
As well as the animal welfare aspects of premarin, isn't the whole concept a bit yucky!
I get flushes and sweats during the day as well, they became way easier to manage once I had started to be open about the cause.
