This could be symptomatic of a couple of conditions, which might require a proper diagnosis, like blood tests. However, gingivitis is the most obvious and common answer.
In any case it is best to see your Dentist!
Avoid sugary foods/drinks. Make sure your dental care is up to scratch, this means mouth wash, flossing, that sort of thing. Improve on your diet. Plenty of vitamin C, ie vegetables, fruits, as the lack of it in your diet can also cause bleeding gums.
Oh, and it is one of the symptoms of pregnancy;)

Hi Eurox, it is NOT likely to be Scurvy so don't worry to much about that. What is important is that any ulcers you get should heal within three weeks maximum. I do think you should attend the dentist by the way. The most likely cause is marginal gingivitis (gum disease) or more advanced periodontal disease. It is caused principally by plaque accumulation around the gum margin followed by your body's immune response to try and remove it (it can't) so the gums may become swollen, red/inflammed and very often bleed. Its important to note that you should continue brushing your teeth as normal also brushing into the gum margin, bleeding may continue, but don't worry if you have a mild gum problem it should settle down. Id also advise you buy some CORSODYL mouthwash (active ingredient chlorhexidine) as this will also help. In any case go to your dentist
Hope this helps
