Reeves' Wrecking Ball Will Be Swinging...

Hi everyone!
I recently had an interview at university, and was rejected last week (I'm gutted). Normally, I'm really confident and I know I'd have been fine if only I wasn't interviewed as a group- it was the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I'm determined to get into the university next year.
There was a girl I really got on with at the interview, who already has a job in the profession. She will have to leave this if she is accepted (which she will be as she was fab) and has said she will put in a good word for me to apply for it. I'm desperate for this job as it should help me get into uni (I'd love it even if I didn't).
I'm poo at covering letters/ CVs, so can any of you give me any tips for both please? I need them to know that they need me :-))
Do you think it would help me to send my CV in with a written reference, as opposed to contact details, as my previous employer will be lovely about me?
Thanks in advance for any help x

I hate writing covering letters - you have to sell yourself without sounding arrogant! any way the link below (you may have to copy and paste it) shows you how to write a covering letter. On microsoft word there is a template for CVs so thats no problem you just rewrite it with your details!!
