But, they don't do any harm and do not hurt at allas far as I know. They should dissappear in about a year. Encourage her not to pick them. My daughter had one that got really big and then was half hanging off so I thought it was ready to come off and pulled it. It now has left a tiny scar (about 3mm across) in the croock of her elbow. It doesn't notice, but of course I know it's there and it makes me feel awful!
hope this helps, and sorry if I have got the wrong thing.
If it appears to be getting worse go straight back to your doctor especially if it is becoming red around the spots as your daughter might have scratched a spot and caused an infection (quite common). My nephew had this and if it becomes infected she will need an antiseptic cream to clear it up and stop the itching.
Unfortunately it can last for up to 2 years but only usually lasts for a couple of months.
In the meantime dont share towels with your granddaughter; encourage her not to scratch; and above all make sure that whoever touches them to put the cream on washes their hand immediately afterwards to prevent cross infection.
