What's the best way to put on healthy weight?

Hi folks, I'm pretty thin (just under 9 stone and 6'1' tall) and have real trouble putting weight on. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for putting on weight fairly quickly, but more muscle weight than fat? Thanks.

I do tend to eat lots generally, but it goes straight through mostly, I have a feeling there must be something like an absorbtion problem but my doctor's no help, he says it's "probably just my natural weight"... I will try all your suggestions though, so thank you all :)
Mate, I'm in the same boat! I've found that it's a combinaton of three things: exercise, food and motivation.
1. Go jogging and do weights. Do it. Use motivation to push yourself (watch 10mins of Rocky if need be!).
2. Try to eat carbs about an hr or two before. Eat fish or chicken straight after exercise (so that your burned-out muscles can use the protein to rebuild). And eat a fair bit of it too, I'd say 1-and-a-half of your usual portions.
3. Draw up a realistic schedule for one month. Stick to it, and you'll see results. Oh and only weight yourself at the end of the first month - you'll be in for a surprise.
