bleach blonde hair...

i am always dying my hair, and naturally have light to medium brown hair, but i really want to get it to go bleach blonde like ashlee simpson or gwen stefani, but everytime i try to go blonde it just goes kind of ginger/strawberry blonde. i have tried using swarzkopf's platinum blonde and such like but it just all goes the same colour. any one any ideas on how to get it to go platinum blonde & not orange?

Have it done at the hairdressers. The colours you can buy to do it yourself are not strong enough. You need a proper hairdressing bleach and, once on, your hair will need to go through the orange stage to the very blonde stage you require.

The do it yourself blondes will not take you past this orange stage.

This is what my hairdresser told me and she was not drumming up business because I am not blonde.

you need to use a toner, that purple stuff hairdressers use to make you go really blonde.

thats all i know from my friends hair dyeing... never coloured my hair in my life!

gessos right. The hair has a lot of red pigment in it and this needs to be lifted out to achieve white/blond otherwise it will go gingery. It needs to be done with a bleach to take all the colour out. A toner is used to tone down any yellowness. The ordinary colours will never give you that effect.They just wouldn't lift high enough. You must go to a hairdresser though. Don't try and put bleach on you own hair because you could burn your scalp, hairdresssers can use a special type of bleach.beware of your roots if you do have this done though!!!
