Why dont boys call when they say they will?

A met a really cute boy on Friday night, and he asked for my digits, and he said hed call me saturday and he didnt call till tonight. He didnt even say why he called so late. Does that mean he doesnt really like me? I am 17 by the way.

You have discovered the phenomenon known as 'boytime' its different from normal time and don't worry about it. As far as I can work out if he says 'tomorrow' give it a week, if he says 'next week' give it one to three weeks before expecting a call. I don't think you can tell much from his timing how he feels - he could be nervous, busy or playing it cool! My advice is take your time and see what happens. Good luck!

A mate of mine gets birds phone nos every week..even though he has no intention of callin.

he has just got divorced after a short marriage.

He gets so many nos...often half a dozen a nite.

It may be that this lad has done the same...maybe cant remember which one you are...due to beer.

Or he does not want to seem desparate...coz when u meet someone there is this joisting thing goes on till you are more involved where neither of u want to be seen to be keener than the other. I hate that ....and send a text the next day if I like a bird.

Thanks Belle Fast. Thing is he seemed so interested. He was telling me how hot I am and staying near me all night. And he said he wanted to hang out on sunday nite and then he never called. I had given up on him and then he called tonite.

Any men out there who can xplain why guys act like this?

Give him back what hes doing to you... if he wants to play it that way....hint that you have a lot of men after your affections

Guy logic is to seem totally disinterested in everything except football / porn / beer. He probably does really like you, since he DID phone (if he didn't like you, he probably wouldn't), but he doesn't want to seem too keen.

boys generally operate on another time schedule.. its known to many as boy time. in boy time, from what I've learned, it's one girl day to three boy days. So in theory he should have called on Monday, but anything up to five days later I think I'd consider normal. Not all guys operate on boy time, but I promise ya a helluva lot of them do!

the rules and dynamics of dating are fascinating! i read this thread and was thinking i usually do the same, say you'll call next night but then you leave it a couple of days just so you dont seem to keen. its a very strange process. Now you might think im coming to some almighty point here but nope, just giving my observations! by the way im 23 just to see if that falls in your age bracket!

Im a guy and I only give phone numbers if i intend on going further with that person. I usually call the person when i say i would or send a text if a call is not possible but this rarely happens eg funeral etc. I like to be prompt and on time, then no one gets upset.
