Can anyone direct me to info on an experiment carried out in the U.S towards the end of WWII in which volunteers were kept in a sports stadium ....fed minimally and when nearing starvation they brought them back to health. They then took this data and treated the survivors of the concentration camps in Europe.

Are you sure this exists? This is the kind of thing they did in the actual concentration camps. Dachau, in particular, was famous for medical experiments including starvation, operations on healthy people and purposely giving people diseases.

Yes, it did. I have subsequently found a page that relates to it. The volunteers were conscientious objectors (so I don't know how much choice the had in volunteering). I will post the link later today ....cant find it at this moment in time.
