Is it painful to touch?

Have you got a cold or bug when it pops up?

Hi redcrx - no its totally painless and thinking on it, it does tend to appear roughly when I am suffering (namely from an undiagnosed skin condition!!) !! x
I had the exact same thing in the exact same place a few months ago. I went to the doctor thinking the worst and he told it was an infected salivary gland which makes sense. The doc told me if it didnt go away to come back and he would do more tests. But it went away on its own. You should go see your doc to be on the safe side and to rule out the big C because it can be one of the signs. dont mean to scare you but these days you cant take any risks. hope it turns out to be nothing :-)

Yep, sounds like a gland thats come up.

If you are run down, which could be cause of skin condition too, then it is likely to swell.

Best to get checked out with GP so that they can confirm or advise

Sounds like a swollen gland (very common), either that or you may be growing a second head (very rare!).

A trip to the doctors will put your mind at ease.

Oh my god I have one too, its always been there and never really hurt but gets a bit bigger every now and then. While I was in the docs for something else I just thought Id ask and he felt my head and said that I have a different shaped head from the norm and it comes out a bit more at the back. He said its quite common and when my had me I came out with such force that it moved my gland (usually found on the neck up behind my ear. :-)

Thanks y'all..........although I won't tell my other half I may have another head coming or he'll leg it - one nagging away is plenty don't think he'd want it in stereo, LOL x x
If you have a feel of where it should be on your neck you should find it isnt there but should be one the other side. :-)
Although mine seems to be further up behind ear and my ears gets bigger when I have a cold :-)
