Hello. I'm 30, male and single. About a year ago, I moved to a new city and instantly felt I needed to be in a new relationship to meet people. However, since Christmas, I have been more laid back about things and have met several girls, although they have all been brief flings. The thing is, since I've been more relaxed, I have had much more attention from the ladies, but before I was chasing all the time and getting nowhere. Is this normal? I'm really not bothered about a relationship at the moment - do girls like this laid-back approach? Seems to work...

What do you think, girls?

it's like reverse psychology(sp?) when you go after someone tehy dont want to know, as soon as you look elsewhere they do want to know. strange lol

I guess that when guys/girls chase they can come across as desperate.but when you chill out a bit more you become more approachable.x

I think you're perhaps just meeting similarly minded women. Not all women want a heavy relationship right away and enjoy the type of relationship you're describing here. They maybe sense you're not looking for anything incredibly serious and this has a certain safety to it I guess.. As long as you're having fun, what does it matter. Anyhoo just my weird theory. enjoy!

I'm not suggesting this was you Tock but if you're too keen not only is there no mystery but it can all too easily come over as being desperate. It's not just girls either - most fellas steer well clear of women that try too hard. Think about it - if you saw a confident girl who wasn't bothered either way whether she pulled or not you're more likely to assume she can just pick & choose.

I think the best way approach flirting situations in the same way you write a good CV - you want to let girls know enough about you to be interested but not so much they don't have to find out any more.......

I agree totally. I have just come out of a relationship so was not looking for anyone but went out Saturday and can't believe how much attention I got!!

I think people give out vibes that they might be unavailable and then its more of a challenge to go and get them ie. more fun :-)

Where do you live Tock? (he he!)

Girls are like cats. Leave them alone and they'll come to you, because they secretly love attention. Us blokes are more like dogs, meet new people and we bounce around like puppies. Though I must admit I prefer a firm handshake to the normal dog type greeting...
