I already have one and it truly is the best thing ever. i can't say it's never leaked, but then again when has a tampon never leaked. The only time I have had a leak was the night of day one. It has never leaked during the day.
When out in public, I have tipped it down the bowl and wiped out with a wet wipe and then dried with a tissue. Its quite rare that i'm out for that long though.
They are so much better than tampons especially as I can't use them as I'm a high risk TSS person. No risk at all with mooncup.
You should try them girls, you'll save a fortune and they are so much more environmentally friendly. They say you can tip the contents into your house plants and it is really good plant food, but I have to say, I've never done that. Lines have to be drawn somewhere.

Just a quick question though- if you're out and about and need to use public toilets, aren't the other women washing their hands at the sink horrified watching you tip that thing in the sink?
Oh and wont you then need to go back into the toilet to put in back in again???? Then come out and wash your hands again?????????
I own a moon cup and it's utterly crap. Not because of leakage, but because I don't have a vagina like a wizard's sleeve; it's big, and uncomfortable, and quite difficult to get in / out!
I prefer <target='_blank' href="http://www.seapearls.co.uk/">Sea Pearls</a> as they're natural, and you don't feel them at all. For changing in public toilets you can just take the old one out and pop it in a tissue or plastic bag til its convenient to wash it: There's 2 per pack and last about 3 months per sponge (so 6 months total, per pack). I have a very heavy flow and they don't leak at all, and you can leave them in as long as you like as they don't cause TSS. Personally I'd try this before forking out for a moon cup.
Oh, and if you must use tampons, go for unbleached organic cotton like NatraCare. xxx

I don't tip it down the sink, that would be gross, I take some wet wipes into the cubicle with me, tip it down the pan, clean it up, dry it off, put it back in (easily for me I might add) and wipe my hands. I then wash my hands at the sink like regular people.
I don't have a problem with getting them in or out, though I did snip the long stalk bit off as it was just too ridiculously long. However, I have given birth 4 times (5th wasa section) so maybe that's why?
I guess they don't suit everyone, but I really like mine and wish I'd bought it years ago.
