...urgh, need advice about periods... i dont so much have a flow just huge big clots of blood, so dark they are almost black. Doctors not open just wondered if anyone knows what it could be..? I'm not in any more pain that usual cramps, but can feel them passing as they are quite large. Ive had a miscarriage before and it was similar but not the same...

My periods got really heavy a couple of years ago and I was worried about the clots, but it is 'normal'. I am at the stage of using a Pampers bed sheet when I get my period as it leaks everywhere, and that is with the medication the doctor has given me.
It is weird to feel the blood gushing out - but don't worry too much. As my mother used to say " you are just having a guid clean out" - in a Scottish accent.

I used to get this and my GP said it was totally normal - it's just bits off the lining of the womb. If it causes you any grief (pain, leakage etc) consult your GP - there are meds you can take to reduce the flow or they may suggest you have a coil fitted.
If you are at all worried though, you should consult your GP in the near future.

I used to suffer from this. Clotting is a sign that your periods are too heavy. I went to the docs about this when I was younger, and he was really helpful There are afew things you can be prescribed, although few are non-hormone based. I went on the pill, and found that this helped, although am now using the contraceptive injection, and havnt had a period at all! Its great. Dont worry about it too much, just go and see your doc on tuesday x
