Never go to the hairdressers - they p@*! me right off.

Sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question!

Dont mind really

I think salons use long sleeved capes as they offer more services such as colouring, bleaching and perming, therefore the product could drip on your sleeves or arms.

Sleeves, I like to b able to move my arms. Although I dont go to my hairdressers, she comes to me :-)

Ah hellibobs, i'm a hairdresser, i hope i don't p@*! you off!!!! Ours is a lovely, friendly family run salon though thats been going for 30+ years. I can't stand the pretentious, overpriced ones where all the hairdressers look like barbie dolls!

In answer to your question silver56uk, we use sleevesless gowns. We do have some with sleeves but i prefer not to use them. Don't know why really. Can't explain. Maybe because they're just easier to drape round as opposed to someone putting their arms out, if that makes sense. we also have a Barber on the premisies(sp) and he uses sleeveless too.maybe though, sleeves make it more manly as opposed to a cape which is more feminine.

except you said it the other way round. I just don't know then!
I will gladly come to your salon unruliejulie then you can prove me wrong! I always have bad experiences at hairdressers so I stay well clear now and get my mother in law to cut my hair for me!!

I am not keen on visiting the hairdresser wither. No matter where I go I always get ''Who on earth cut your hair last time?''

I must try & find a nicer one but I am now bordering on phobic :o(

ah, that saddens me and a true proffessional hairdresser should never critisize another ones work,i would imagine its done to make themselves look better!!
I really don't mind as long as I don't get hair all over my clothes. As I have short hair, I have mine cut in a Unisex hairdresser as I don't need anything elaborate done. What really hacks me off is the way they leave hair trimmings all over the floor throughout the day and never sweep it up. I've dropped numberous hints about it but they always seem to fall on deaf ears.
