For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I've had IPL (Intensed Pulsed Light) on my armpits and it doesn't hurt much (less than waxing by a long way) - it's a kind sharp but very quick "snap" of pain. And it doesn't hurt much really (depends on your pain threshold I suppose).
For me, I had 6 sessions (approx �250) and it disappeared completely (apart from the odd hair) for a few months and then it started to appear again (thinner and sparser though) so I booked another 6 sessions (approx �130) - I've only been to 4 and again, it disappeared for a while but has started to come back again (grows a lot slower and is still thinner and sparser) so I'll be booking my other 2 sessions soon.
I guess what I'm saying is it DOESN'T REMOVE HAIR PERMANENTLY (in my experience) but it does help if you're really hairy and have to shave every other day - I only shave about once a week now.
