Severe indigestion ?

Just after i finnished dinner last night, i developed indigestion. I've had it many times before so i usually sit there, move about a bit and after a couple of good burps, it goes.

But last night got progressively worse and worse ti the point where i had to go and check if my lips were blue to see if it could be a heart attack. Calling an ambulance at this point was a big reality. I was then quite sick.

This continued all night....severe dull aches and sharp stabbing pains all around the area of my stomach and left side of the rib cage going round to my back.

I tried clearing in the usual way but despite dislodging a lot of "wind" through burping, the pain never went. At present, i'm still in the same position.....lots of wind being expelled but no releif of the bad pain.

I will book up for the Drs as soon as possible but in the meantime, has anyone had indigestion as bad as this or collic even. Any remedies as i'm in agony. All i've had this morning is sips of mineral water.

Hammerman - don't wait for a doctor's appointment.

Go round there now, tell the receptionist about your violent pains, sickness and the fact that you felt so ill you were going to call an ambulance. People in the past have often often suffered heart attacks but believed they were suffering violent indigestion. I'm not a doctor, and I'm not saying that this is what is happening to you but it's better to be safe than sorry. Hope all is OK.

I remember having an attack like this years ago-down to a burger i bought while out,i was up all night ,does it hurt to take a deep breath? i put a hot water bottle on my back and stomach and it eased the stabbing pains so much, i wasnt sick with it though but as Wendys said - play safe and go to see your doc x

Went to Dr's today. He said i've had a gastric flu type symptom and the existing pains in my stomach and abdomen are probably from retching (i'm hardly ever sick and i sound like a cat being strangled !!!)

He took some blood tests and basically told me to see it out.

Currently feeling terrible....aches and fever type thing but thanks for all your help....it was much appreciated.
