second questions a bit more personal, im a virgin but i no most things about sex, im young aswell well 19 , wen i started my period i tried a tampon but found it hard to get it up, and didnt really bother or try again and carried on using pads but im just beginnin to think about having sex with my bf, but wat if he cant penetrate or i find it really painfull or he cant get in me sorry im just a little scared and dont no how its gonna work x

i couldn't get the hang of tampons til over a year after i started having sex! i think they are just awkward little bu**ers! having sex might hurt to start with and feel tight but just remember to relax. it does get easier with practise! just try not to worry just take your time it'll all b fine xXx

Hi Sarah, I was like you and when I first started my periods I couldn't get a tampon up. I first had sex at seventeen and all was fine. Try not to tense up, try not to worry or be scared. The more relaxed that part of your body is, the less painful it will be. The first time may well hurt but it may not. Don't let it put you off if it does! It gets better!

And not being crude but foreplay is the key!! Have some fun beforehand and the area should get ready for it!!

dont stress yourself about it hun. i first had sex at 17 and i was really scared about doing it but as loobie says foreplay is the answer. dont worry about a thing it will come naturally trust mexx

oh i 4got to say enjoy yourself whilst you are in the process, make sure you are a place where you are relaxed and comfortable, so there is no pressure.

coat the tip of the tampon with vaseline that should help it go in.

get used to this then it shouldn't be too 'alien' a feeling when you have sex.

i won't lie, it will hurt the first time, but not a lot and if you just relax, use plenty of lube, you should be fine

From a man's point of view can I just recommend that you let your boyfriend know that you are a virgin so that he can make it the way you'd like it to be.

Regarding the tampon, try to aim for the small of your back, not straight up.
