We will all be affected by it,if we haven't already,my wife has had it,a dear friend of mine (carolyn) died last year,and it is getting worse,lets all help in any way we can,sorry to be a bore,Gessoo carried the post yesterday my turn today would someone else kindly carry it forward tommorow,lets help all we can,thanks all, Ray xx

ray, you are such a lovely man! I haven't lost any loved ones to it (yet) but i do know a lot of people who have had it or lost someone.Is it me, or does it seem to be becoming more commonplace these days? My thoughts and good wishes go to all those who find themselves in this situation, God bless! xx

Awww Ray,you sweetie.I lost my beloves nan,grandad, and godmother to it and it is the cruellest disease.It really puts some of our little rants on here into perspetive if we sit down for two minutes and think just how damn lucky most of us are.

Hi girls, I love being on here with you lot,as you say it is evil,julie it is becoming worse,when my wife was told the nurse said the average was 1 in 11 but in the area we lived it was about 1 in 7 that is scary,my wife was lucky, all she has to show for hers is one breast and a slighty fatter arm (lymphodyma) spelling,

Pink, that is so sad,and yes we need to put things in perspective,but we deserve to have a little moan as well,don't we.

My grandma's chap has just been diagnosed with it and been told he's not got long left in this world. Really sad for my grandma - I've only met him a few times but nonetheless he's family and he's kept my grandma happy for the time they've been together.

My other grandma died of stomach cnacer about 5 years ago - that was awful to watch. Stuff like that makes you think euthanasia should be legalised. I never want to die that death and would rather take my own life.

alot of people have died from cancer in my mum's estate. I am starting to wonder whether it has anything to do with the refuse site they live near.

What a great idea this is!

I know many people who have suffered from this terrible disease and the sad thing is, it's becoming more and more rare to meet someone who doesn't know of someone affected by cancer.

Last year and me and a lot of female work colleagues took part in Race for Life to raise money for cancer research and this year we did the race again and raised loads.

Best wishes to everyone who is involved in keeping this going.
