a good book?

im of on holiday in 5 days and i want to buy a really good book to keep me entertained whilst sunbathing !
i like true crime stories, crime fiction, i like autobiographys, and true stories
can anyone reccomend anything??

have you tried any ian rankin?... the shadow of the wind is good. but can't remeber the authors name, or how about janet evanovich.

agatha christie and if you like factual stuff, i just finished reading a lovely book by andre maurois "ariel" a biography (written like a novel) about Percy Bysshe Shelley the poet and friend of Byron. wonderful read.

Hi ray, it was some time ago now, but i recall really enjoying it, and being a bit surprised at how good it was.

not that i would have expected something below parr from hugh laurie, but i remember thinking it was just not how i'd imagined the book would be when i bought it.

now that you already have it i would especially advise reading it.

I may give it another airing now actually, thinking about it!

i also have enjoyed quite a few books by charlie higson (ralph in the fast show) they are quite serious, thrilling and dark.
