does anyone know of anything that helps prevent sun allergy. Everytime I look at the sun i come out in a rash that looks like tiny blisters all over my face, neck, chest and shoulders! It goes after about a week, but nothing seems to stop it and it's making my life a misery. It's impossible to fully avoid the sun and it occurs even after 5 mins of exposure. Thanks!
Thanks Shaneystar! I've just read that using Coppertone SPF 45 is really good because it contains an ingredient called Parsol 1789. Prednisone is good too apparently, although I'm not really sure what the side effects of this is. Cheers for all your help!
My mum used to get this when we were kids. She was prescribed Betnovate cream by our GP, who diagnosed a UBV allergy. The Betnovate worked really well, as did the damp flannel Mum used to carry round with her in a plastic bag for cooling purposes. She used to whip it out of the bag and dab the affected 'bits' at the first 'tingling' of her skin when outside, and sometimes she could stave off the full blistery annoyance. Poor you - full sympathy!
. You are lucky to have been caught out twice...I have had this for more years than I care to remember.I can't see where sun block makes it worse ..if I didn't put a high factor sunscreen on I would look like one of those creatures out of Dr.Who.My GP tells me to wear sunblock ..so I wear it. It's not just itchy lumps ..it's B.great blisters which weep and go pussey !
People confuse prickly heat with PLE and they are two completely different things
Itchy sun blisters - another sufferer here!
Or rather I should say former sufferer, homeopathic treatment sorted me out.
I am currently lovely and brown - (ie I can now go in the sun, hence the name!) apart from all the little white scars caused by years of blisters!
