But,

I think you'll find that lots of men are interested in how they look (you only have to looka t the numerous adverts for loreal mens stuff for example
Ray, terrific post, magic.
Kazza, I don't recall mentioning anything about personal hygiene, just as Ray has said, pop round anytime and take a sniff, you may be repelled by my looks, but not my B.O, I never use aftershave or these spray on deoderants, just soap, loads of it, but nothing but.
Octavius, yes there are some men who do go to beauty parlours, and that is up to them, its just that I think a beauty parlour is a femine thing.
Vive La Difference, and never the twain should meet.

I don't necessarily think its a bad thing if a man wants to keep himself well groomed, however, i think i would find it slightly off putting having a man that wanted to pamper himself with beauty treatments, and get his chest waxed. I like my men clean shaven, bathed and smelling of aftershave. That does it for me. I cant imagine my hubby plucking his eyebrows but each to their own and like i said, if they want to do all the "girly " stuff, then thats OK too.
i wasn't meaning to imply that men who dont go to salons are smelly oafs, i just feel that those men who take an interest in what they look like enough to go to a salon have more self respect. If mr kazza was hairy - i'm afraid he would have to go get waxed ... luckily i chose him on his lack of hisuitness!
men get away with murder when it comes to looking after themselves and making and effort to look good -
a squirt of deoderant and talc down the undies is all some men bother to do and think thats enough!
women spen hours and endire painful treatments to look good - and when a woman doesn't bother people tuen their noses up.
we look and smell and feel good - why shouldn't you?
