What do women look for in a man?
18 Answers
What qualities do women look for in a man? Obviously, you can't make absolute generalisations...i.e. the quality that one woman looks for, may not be true for another female.
But, on the whole, what do you look for in a man - what would attract you to a male, either as a friend, or a potential partner?
Is it always a 'nice personality?' Or is there something more to it?

He'd have to be clean ( ie not spotless, but just not unreasonably smelly or dirty), open-minded and of similar intelligence to me.
For me, it's these things that combine to make a 'nice personality', and things like common ground for conversation, personal views or levels of intelligence will have different meanings for everyone. So the man whom I consider to have a 'nice personality', some women would detest.

2.Good Hair an absolute must
3. Good physique (either tall and awkward or rugby player) but definitely 5ft10 plus.

5. A provider
6. Energy
7. fun and adventure
8. a good heart
9. It is absolutely essential my man is team player, be it rugby, football or hockey I dont give a stuff but they tend to make the best boyfriends.
10. Clean
11. sexual compatability

This "good sense of humour... must be able to make me laugh out loud" stuff... why does it come top of the list so often?
Another one that's come up a few times is "fun" but that's become such a horrible vague term these days I don't really know what it means anymore.
Also, I'm intrigued to see if anyone says they DON'T want "sensitivity" and "gentle caring nature". I know there are women who despise these qualitites in men and seem to not mind being treated badly by insensitive, selfish, "unreconstructed" men. But perhaps none of those women post on AB.
