Lets take your quote, ''I think i'm in love to'' its not f*****g Donny osmond where talking about here, IF you have children i'm sure you sit them down and say what a wonderful roll model the smack head is to your kids.
I bet you have dappled in drugs in the past?

laurence2, I sit my kids down and warn them of the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes like most parents do, but without acting like a sanctimonious pr!ck. Should my kids ever become involved with any of the above, I know that i'd be there for them no matter what, because that's what parents do.
I don't condone what Pete Doherty is doing to himself, and it is ONLY himself he's doing it to, but he is ill, needs help, and I for one wish him well, as I would anyone trying to overcome an addiction.
As to whether I've dabbled with drugs in the past or not, is it relevant to me having an opinion?
rugeleyboy, if you actually read what I posted before, you will see that I winked after that comment.
I DO like Pete Doherty, think he has talent, and enjoy his music. Does that make me small minded? As for idolising him, did I say that? No! Thought not.

laurence2, ' ;-)' that's a wink btw.
So just because I have a difference of opinion from you, I must be an ex drug user? LMFAO
Can't I just be a 37 year old mother who happens to enjoy Pete Dohertys' music, who feels sorry for him, and hopes that he can overcome his addiction? Maybe it's the mothering instinct in me eh?

Hypothetically speaking, if my kids were old enough to like Pete's music, and were invited to see him, then I'd hope that they would have enough common sense, and respect for themselves, not to get involved with anything untoward that might be going on there.
Like I said before laurence2, I like his music, feel sorry for him, and hope he overcomes his addiction and gets back to writing good music once again.
What I DIDN'T say was, well done Pete, I think it's great that you're a drug addict, and I idolise you, and hope my kids grow up to be just like you.

you do know that in 2001, the american government gave the taliban lots of mony (millions of dollars) because they had done such a good job at CONTROLLING the drug problems in Afghanistan. it was on my mind, oh well....and i agree with rufio AND WM in alot of respects but i dont think it right to be angry at an addict. If they are trying to get better and lead a cleaner life free of "smack" and such then so be it. I know what he has done is bad and its a bad role model but cant you see he is trying....Drugs are a terrible things and examples have already been given of their effects. Just leave him be, for gods sake!
all this talk about role models.....i for one as a young adult never looked at the pop stars who were on drugs or the celebs who had commmitted crimes as idols or role models. What they do is bad, and that is a known fact. I dont think i have met a person who is on drugs that would say it is because "pete doherty does it"......just because a popular band member is on drugs doesnt mean everyone of his "fans" will become junkies too...they are getting fed the same over-exaggerated bulls**t and know it is wrong. I know this is a delicate subject and dont mean to offend anyone but i believe people should try and look at things from a wider perspective rather than just their own narrowminded tunnel vision.
on behalf of my friend peter lawrence i and many others feel sorry for undo your collar and live a little...maybe if you put your energies into something productive you may be happier...as pete said at least hes only addicted to crack and heroin and not living such a narrow minded bitter ill informed life....such as yours you tit x
