Is it possible to fall truly in love in just a few days?

This sound silly but today I was speaking to my ex and I said to her that since we are now over I genuinely want her to get a new girl friend and fall in love.She replied by saying ''how can I fall in love when I am already in love you airhead?''When I heard that I felt so sad my heart just sank and to call me an airhead was nasty to (true but nasty).But then I thought to myslef this is just inflatuation she cannot really be in love.I was wondering if you agree.I mean you cannot fall in love in 3 days can you?

I don't think so and have certainly never experienced it but there's lots of people on here with stories about love at first sight so I guess maybe there's something in it.
