First date.....Who pays?

I'm going for a meal tonight with a new bloke. I know he's going to pay because thats the sort of guy that he is but should i at least offer to pay half. Is it rude to assume that the guy will pay?

First of all have a lovely night out, I am at an age where I think the man should pay,if somebody asks you out, they should pay, I never ever let a lady pay, I know things have changed, but that is how I see it, different thing when you are married,my wife treats me to a meal out,but on a first date, No way, You could offer, but if he accepts without any arguing, ditch the tight sod. take care, Ray xx

i always pay, its not a flash thing, its just me, it would be nice of you to offer as most men would appreciate that touch, if your insisting on contributing to the evening, pay for a bottle of wine whilst he pops out to the toilet, this is providing one of you is not driving.
At the end of the day, it will be nice of him to pay as i prefer the old fashioned ''COURTING'' days where the man does all the work {including paying for dinner} to impress the ladies without going to much OTT
Have a GREAT NIGHT by the way

Hi spk, thank you,you are very kind, both my lads are still single 31 & 28, and I know they treat ladies the same as I would,I told them when they were very young how to treat people, I wish they could find that special someone, maybe it could be you, only problem is we are all in North Wales, not many free ladies in this area, maybe we should have stayed in London, take care spk,you are lovely and there is someone special waiting for you, Ray xx

Hey all
OK
enjoy your night by the way. About he paying stuff. It could be a trickey business. I am sure no matter who pays the bill in FULL (apart from your husband/dad/brother) , they still expect you to atleast make an offer to pay or share. So in my case if he is the man he would say no way and thanks, but if he agrees, then you pay your share and sod the tight sod as ray said.
Bottom line don't forget to make an offer to share the bill.
