cold sores

I never suffer from cold sores, and i can feel i have on underlying on my bottom lip. it feels if its pulsating ever now and again, ... is there anything i can put on it to stop it getting worse

Ice ASAP, then zovirax when you get to the chemist. I dont know if ice defo works, but some clever eejit grabbed me a kissed me when he had one and I put ice on straight away and it never came to anything.

I don't think there is anything out there to stop them, but Zovrax is good at accelerating the process from initial tingle to scab/disappearance.

If it is a coldsore you'll know before the day's out. Get some Zovirax on hand just in case.

Make sure the lip is dry and dab some perfume on. I don't know why but it always works for me.

are you abit run down,asking that as when im abit fed up ai get them,the thing i use is aftershave it stings but it works quick

congrats neenee, if it is a coldsore then you have a friend for life|!!
as soon as you feel the tingle get some zovirax or similar on it. if not, perfume or aftershave once it breaks to help dry it out. and try not t0 pick it!!

When you're at the chemist ask for some 'rubbing' alcohol, they'll know what it is. Keep that in your bathroom cabinet for such nasty episodes and apply asap. It has a similar effect as perfume etc but is less harsh on the delicate skin of the lips. Zovirax is great, but mightily expensive for what looks like a tube of toothpaste for Barbie!
