forgotten pill

whilst on holiday last week i forgot one night to take my pill. i usually take it every evening at around 11:30pm before i go to sleep. the following monring i released and took it straight away which was around 10am. iv read that as long as it is taken within a 12 hour window then protection is still ok and to carry on taking the rest of the pills as nomral. however im still worrying slightly! i started my 7 day break 4 days ago and today i come on my period so that was a relief. am i worrying for nothing or should i get it checked out to make sure. ta x

x J x .....you will be fine, honestly, used to do the same thing. Problems arise when you do it too many times in one month, my sister in law ended up pregnant by forgetting to take her pill....mind you she'd only realise after 4 days and take 5!!!......silly girl.

You took it within 12 hours of your normal time so its fine.

is it the combined or mini pill? each have different instructions i think. Mini pill has a tighter time slot. Get out the instructions leaflet and read carefully.

im on the combined pill! thanks for your responses guys! i think i worry to much sometimes but wanted to get an opinion. is it necessary to do a pregnancy test every now and then when on the pill to check everything is ok cuz i know some people have said that despite being on the pill they have fallen pregnant anyway!? does a period or 'withdrawal bleed' during your 7 day break mean that your not pregnant or can this happen anyway? thanks again
