Following on from Lore's reply to my earlier question, Has anyone had endometriosis, i have had a look on the internet to find out more, but its causing me to worry, so thought i'd see if anyone has had anything similar. I'm having serious pain during sex and also bleeding its been going on for a few months but is getting so much worse its now very hard to have sex! Its putting a strain on things too! I am on the depo injection and am thinking of coming off it this time as i'm worried it is causing it! (although i doubt it!) I'm in need of advice! ;o(

hey ive read a little on this as am having probs with absent periods and period pain!!
waiting on results from scan now and i worried :-(
about eight years i went to my doc because sex with an ex was mega pain too i was sent for a laparoscopy to determine what was wrong and they told me it was endometriosis.
i then had laser surgery to remove the damaged bits and have had very little pain since although surgeon did say the tissue can grow back in time and i may need more treatment. ive never been on depo so cant help you there but i do think you prob need a laporoscopy
hope this helps
does that hurt. do u get put to sleep while they do it??

Thanks! I'm suddenly feeling very anxious! I've read it affects fertility which is really worrying for me, if i do have it because i really want children!
Awww caz, I'm so sorry, the last thing I wanted was for you to worry :( - I feel awful now! Could you not go back to your GP and voice your concerns? that's what they're there for, you shouldn't have to continue with the pain for the sake of waiting on smear test results. There must be something else they can be doing.

as Caz247 mentioned, you may need to have a laparoscopy done - it's nothing drastic, I've had one done and was home and back to normal within a few hours.

I could kick myself for opening my big gob now! :(
caz it used to be called career women syndrome because of the fertility side of it but it only affects a very very small percent that are unable to conceive. as for the laser surgery you are under anaesthetic the whole time and it is normally done in day surgery unit so you don't even have to stay in overnight. is it caused by the lining off your womb during your period shedding outside your uterus and thats whats causing you the pain and the laser will remove this if needed

A fabulous book to get hold of, possibly from the library is by Dr Sarah Brewer & called Endometriosis & Fibroids (or that could be round the other way!).
Clear and very helpful.
I am going through a simular situation, I got off Depo-Provera in March of 2003. Directly after ending Depo, my cycles went irregular (which I have never been). Slowly, pain started occuring from sex to horrible cramps. Last April my doc realized that I probally had Endometriosis. So in late July 2006, I had surgery and found out I do have Endometriosis. I went on Lupron 2 weeks after the surgery and have been on it for 4 months. I had so many horrible side effects that were so much worse than the actual Endometriosis pains! I had everything from horrible night sweats which kept me up all night and hot flashes all throughout the day. They would hit me about every 5 to 15 minutes, they feel like your body temp raised 10 degrees! After all the surgery and the Lupron injection, my husband and I are fighting with the infertility! Since I also have annovulation we are having a hard time along with the painful/endometriosis pains during sex. I would talk to your doc to make sure you dont have Endometriosis. The number 1 symptom of it is PAIN. Good Luck I hope it all works out for you :0)
