posted this here as wellas news in case nobody goes there, on sk news today there was this muslim guy telling the reporter that an airline offical said could he leave the plane as they were not taking standby passengers due to the incidents, he said he was sure other standby passengers were on the flight but they never asked them, he said somone had read the passenger list and he said iam muslim british born with aribic name and hold a pilots licence, the man was prob totally inocent but what choice did they have? what do you think?
I think today, they had no other choice,it is a shame for the genuine peace loving Muslims, but, better safe than sorry, muslims must accept this, it is not ordinary white british blowing people up is it .
They have stopped on line check in even for people who have flown millions of miles with airline. Mr Sense is not going to be happy. I feel for the guy who was turfed ...they should be consistent in application of rules - but risk assesment has always been an elimination game! Poor Sod tho' , I hope travellers aid can help get him sorted if all else fails.
It is unfair and not nice for Muslims to always be under suspicion, but the sad fact is that the current threat to security comes from individuals and groups within their communities. I personally think that Muslims could do more to get rid of the unpleasant elemnst within their ranks, but i also think that the media and some of the government's actions have created a climate where it is understandable that muslims feel like they're being persecuted. There is no easy answers to all of this, but I am afraid that if monitoring Muslims more closely than other groups helps to keep innocent people from ALL races and religions safe, then we should reluctantly support it.
persecuted> they are wrapped in cotton wool for goodness sake! whining because young muslims have their houses searched, riots etc, then 2 months later they are trying to blow thousands out of the sky!if the so-called majority of 'peaceful' muslims dont start showing their faces soon and condemning this latest in what i'm sure will be a long line of atrocities in our sickeningly liberal country, well I hope our attitudes will change.we might be 'nice' but hey, dont you think it's getting out of hand?
