crowns on teeth leaking

hi all my dentist tells me that my front crowns are leaking i have noticed a gap beetween the teeth and gums with sum black metal starting to show through and food is constantly gettin stuck in these gaps he ses they will have to be done privatly, does anyone no if they will get worse or will they stay the way they are,as it is a hefty fee to have them done, dont really no wot to do any advice wud be hellpful. thanks tuna

Id get them done asap..food trapped will cause decay to the teeth next to your crowns .I fear dental treatment of any kind as many others on here do ~ and we all know the pain of toothache! ...probably cost you a lot though but its worth it i think. good luck in whatever you decide
Don't you belong to Denplan tuna, or something similar as everything PatriciaH has said is correct and these crowns must be corrected very quickly?

Mine leaked and my husband developed something rather nasty under his. We flossed, used mouthwash but in the end treatment was necessary - and well worth every penny. Do get it sorted as nothing is worse than toothache..

thanks to all for advice i am goin to go on the hunt for a dentist, i dont belong to any dental plan but hav been poking around the crowns this mornin to get the cornflakes out of the gaps there seems to be 3 of them now and they have become extremely sensitive.wish me luck tuna
