Yeah I don't buy this crap about 'you'llchange yr mind' - just because you're a woman and your choice isn't respected. Both men and women still subscribe to the idea of a woman being desperate to have children on some level and find it really hard to handle a female that actively chooses not to have children and innately feels that they don't want them. You know how you feel and are choosing yr lifestyle because of how you truly feel. A lot of ppl find that hard to handle due to jealousy and their own circumstances.

I agree wholeheartedly with FF (daren't type it out in full cos I'll probably put the a where to i should go lol)...
You are doing it (or not as the case may be) for yourself, not them but for you, it is your life not theirs...
Besides, if you did have children just because it is expected of you - how selfish would that be - think of the children...
Stick to what you want fluffy - you can always change your mind if you want...if not, so be it..

We live in a conformist culture, and people who don;t confirm to the norm - by which i mean that majority - make some people uncomfortable.
It is the height of bad manners to presume to know a woman wellenough to say she will 'change her mind' - inferring that she has yet to see the light but she will in time.
Resist pressure from these people, you are happy as you are, and that's fine. There is no rule that says you have to have children - there is no gold medal at the end of the line for those who do, or a booby prize for those who don't.
It's your choice - don't be bullied - take offence! I would!

Good on ya mccfluff - I'm 33 in November and have no children - been living on my own for years and can't imagine settling down and having kids now. just can't imagine living with someone/kids etc. I've been with women who have children and it has put me off as they've been bl00dy nightmares!!! Maybe if I met someone my own age who had no children already and was happy on their own, or great kids and no psycho exes, I'd change my mind! Out of interest - how did you manage to get the sterilisation at such a young age? Most GPs won't allow it until you've had kids!!
