The use of alcohol disrupts both REM and slow wave sleep, both vital in the restoration and rebuilding of the mind and the body. Alcohol affects the neurotransmitters that regulate these two phases of sleep as well as the onset of sleep.

Noway i find it so frustrating not being able to sleep. Especially when my mate is asleep next to me zedding away hah! This one time we had visitors and had to sleep on the living room floor and i was trying to sleep from 12am til 6am i was so frustrated and itching from the floor and kept hearing all buzzing noises thinking wasps were around me so ran into the kitchen and thought i still heard it round me i was swinging into the thin air getting so frustrated i ended up going outside and trying to sleep there under the extended roof of our house!!! oh yeah and the next day i did find that damn wasp it landed on my arm aaaaaaaargh!
i am like you friek..... always lying awake, i see every hour and all i want to do is go to sleep.
i was told it was due to the fact that i drink alcopops when i go out and they are fullof caffiene which make you wide awake, i guess that makes sence,
it nice to know that someone else suffers like me after drinks!!
