If you have had x-rays can you ask to keep the actual images are do they go into some sort of medical portfolio? It's just when I broke my arm, the fracture looked almost comical and I always wanted to keep them but never asked!
Weird question, but I hope you can help!

thye keep them. I recently had a hip relacement and asked my consultant to email me the xray and he did.
Some hospitals will let you have a copy of your x-ray if you ask them when it is being taken. Costs around 12. But not all will. Our x-ray department will not. This is annoying if you want to send it to another hospital, i.e. if you are planning to have surgery abroad. The hospital abroad will sometimes ask for an x-ray to be sent ahead of your appointment, so that they can evaluate your injury before telling you how much the treatment is going to cost. I would go ahead and ask. You never know you might be lucky!
All depends, if you've gone private, they send them to you, because they want you to take them with you on any other appointments. at least, they did with me.
