Suppose i should be grateful really but i'm not hungover today.....

Was having a great night with the girls, started in Wetherspoons....then went across to Walkabout - which as per usual was packed out....

Unfortunately my night came to an early stand still, or should i say sit still.....as i attempted to do the "runnning man" to Salt and Peppers classic "Push It" in my heels....

My knee (which as some of u remember i was told i sprained my ligaments two weeks ago) totally gave way on me AGAIN so i had to spend the rest of the night dancing in my chair with a pitcher full of ice sat next to me :o(

Back to cripple status and gonna have to spend my Saturday sat in A and E trying to get a scan and op booked!! :o(

Anyone who's sprained their ligaments can u share ur symptons? Unfortunately now i think ive done more than sprained them.

And everyone else your sympathy is welcomed :o)

I'm jealous.
I wish I had a bad knee instead of this hangover.
Quick pint after work my arse!!
aww nat, thats terrible ! hope you get better soon !
did you have a shot for me though?! hee hee

Question Author
Pinkfizz - im sure you'll be fine - at least u can lie back and let him do all the work....

ugly_bob - look in the brightside you'll feel fine tomorrow - all ready for round 2.

rom - yeah i had one too many shots last night - was doing Apple Sours.....hope thats ok for you?

I just vomitted in my work toilet.... so i reckon i actually do have a hangover.
Awwww, I'm sorry you have a bad knee and that you are sick now too (why is it whenever we speak you are hungover??)

I think I have rigamortis in my entire body, I went to a Body Pump class the night before last and currently the only bits of my body I can move without causing immense pain are my eyes and my fingers. I slept completely rigidly last night because I had gone swimming in an attempt to loosen my muscles, but I think I just made it worse.

I hope your knee gets fixed up soon, I've got a dodgy knee too though I have never bothered going to doc about it - maybe I should. I probably will one day when i can't walk (or do the running man) anymore x x x
Question Author
lol natalie.

So that body pump class didnt go down to well then? lmao. ;o)

I feel your pain - i did a "Spinning" class once - that was just bloody awful and i was too scared to walk out during the class.

Look on the bright side, at least you have ur fingers to eat with and ur eyes for seeing..... :D

Yeah i dont know why im always hungover when i speak to you - maybe because ur on this more on Fridays? Coz i go out on Thursdays...?
Probably, Friday I am usually on my own in the office and so do pretty much naff all ;-)

Yeah, the class was pretty intense, but it was fun and if I have recovered by next week then I will go again.

Have never done spinning but I have a friend that does and she says it's pretty heavy going.
Question Author
Spinning is ridculous, not sure i did it correctly but i had no control of my legs whatsoever!!

Well done you for wanting to go again despite only being able to move ur fingers and eyes!!!
NAT,
I had a grade 3 tear of my MCLigament in January.

Ice will be the best thing fot your injury as it will take down the inflamation.

It sounds though you might have a ACL injury IF it keeps giving way.

You really need a MRI sacn, your hospital will probably want to send you for keyhole but insist on MRI.

Start taking glucosamine ASAP as high dosage as possible

I really really do know what your going through and its not nice at all.

Question Author
thanks sunflower - trust me, i'm very well educated when it comes to knee ligaments as ive previously had my left knee ACL rebuilt (went through the whole key hole surgery kerfuffle) also had 30% of my cartialge taken out - was only 16 at the time so didnt have an MRI scan.

Problem is, its my right knee this time- i dreaded that it was my ACL but A and E doc suggested i had just sprained my collateral ligament.

Minor locking also suggests ive damged my cartilage too i think....GUTTED.
Question Author
sunflower - is it true that u have to wait ages to get an MRI scan?
The hospital wanted to send me for keyhole - 6 month waiting list, I pleased with them for MRI, they told me it would take about a year (this NHS)

Personally I think it was because the MRI cost the NHS more.

Anyways I paid privatley for the MRI and waited 2 days!!!!

Question Author
Dont mean to ask personal questions - but i will anyway.... how much was it going private?
No its fine.
Well Bupa wanted 600 but my man knows the surgeon at our local hospital and he managed to get it for me at half price 300.
But I would have paid the 600.
Question Author
Bloody eck - a lot of dosh - although that was rather expected....

Was gonna go A and E but was just thinking - there is nothing they can really do... i went there when my knee first gave way (3 weeks ago) and he just said ice and rest and if it doesnt improve get my doc to refer me...

Its just such a long bloody process!!!

Thanks for the info anyway.
Rememebe
RICE
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation
I only learnt that after a week of my accident!!

Good luck with it all...
