Im sure a lot of you have already read or heard about this tragic story. Although he only has probably about a month left i'd just like to encourage people to continue spreading the word, to influence other people to spread the word and if you know any mixed race people to urge them to give blood. Its not too late yet, so dont think give up!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keiton, aged 7, was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia but in the last month of treatment the disease turned into Acute Myeloidblastic Leukaemia and now he must have a Bone marrow Transplant.

Paris, Keiton's mum is an incredible woman and single mother, who has been a tower of strength for him and now really needs your help to make her dream come true and watch her much loved son grow up and have a fulfilling life.

Time is running out for Keiton and the only way to save his life is to go give blood directly to one of the clinics. We are looking for mixed race individuals to become a Bone Marrow donor for Keiton, as his tissue type is very unusual.

The potential donor must, like Keiton, have one black and one white parent and be aged between 18 and 40.

Im not that educated about the medical side of things but found this website which is helpful.

http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp? page=3956

The first procedure is just a blood sample - they will just take a teaspoon full of blood from a vein - probably in ur arm - doesnt hurt.

By the way Blue Chang - My boyfriends mixed race - although he's not afro carribean but he's still gonna give blood to see is he could possibly be Keitons match.

PS u wont have to go through a bone marrow transplant unless u are someones blood match!

Hi nat,

great that you have brought this to everyone on heres attention, some things in life seem so unfair, we should all do whatever we can, we have a respite centre for children near us and they are all so happy and cheerful, why do we moan so much? Let us hope this works, take care nat xx
Question Author
I know what u mean ray - we take so much for granted.

He's such a gorgeous little kid and even though his chances have been described as pretty slim its always worth trying and u never know a miracle might just happen.
I will have to find out about the blood thing - my blood group is A rhesus negative which isnt particulary common.
