Brittle splitting thumbnails

For the past 2/3 years I havent been able to grow my thumbnails they are always splitting verically and can get very painful, and irritating as they catch on everything

Try soaking your nails in some almond oil .which you can get at Holland and Barrett.... a couple of times a week ..Rub Vaseline into the nails every night and put on cotton gloves .This gives the nails moisture and will help to heal the cracks.Always use a good hand cream after washing your hands .Diprobase is a good all round cream for any type of skin complaint.I use it as a hand cream and it is brilliant .It moisturises the hands and nails.Failing that see your GP.

Thx shaneystar 2 for the advice will certainly try anything and angeldraws i thought the idea was to post a question and people suggest ideas/answers thats why the site is called answerbank doh!
