Burial or cremation?
43 Answers
Which would you prefer? Both my parents are buried and whilst that means it is a place to go to take plants and flowers, i hardly ever go even though it is only 3 miles away. It is a very bleak cold place. Have you ever given your final resting place a thought?

Cannot believe how that churchyard has filled up it is only a tiny village.
Neither option is particularly appealing so I'll be cremated & ashes scattered by the river not far from where I lived
I told once told my sons I wanted to be buried at sea but they decided I was too skinny to sink. So I told them to put me in concrete boots & I'd stand on the sea bed, waft about & scare the fish like those aquarium models.
More people should talk about it. My sister works as a funeral arranger & so many people have no real idea what their loved ones would have wanted.

we buried my mother, as per her instructions.
My dad wanted to be cremated, which was no problem. However my brother and I spent ages trying to work out what to do with the ashes. Initially we put in his arm chair which looked out of the window and into his garden. But when we came to selling the house we did not want to put anyone off so we had to find somewhere else.
We took him out for a drive in the car and eventually got to Loch Earn, we 'dumped' him in the Loch. My brother took the plastic urn home as he thought he could keep his nails and screws in it (no joke!) but he wouldn't tell his wife where he got the urn. Then he realised that he would probably come home one night to find the urn filled with pickled beetroot or something. I am not sure what he really did with the urn. The day out was like an episode of Father Ted.
