I have recently started driving lessons, I have been driving for nearly two months, and I am still getting discomfort in my right ankle. It can get quite painful to drive. My instructor has suggested going to get an x - ray on my ankle to see if I have any old injuries that are flaring up because of the driving. Has anyone else had this??

My wife can't drive Rovers because of the angle of the pedal, she gets exactly the same sort of thing, but only in Rovers. I'm assuming it must be the angle of the pedal as she has small feet. She's fine in everything else. Try driving a different car if you can and see if it still does it.
We have just purchased a new car and and we have both suffered from aching ankles, it is purely down to flexing the ankle to an abnormal position and holding it in that position for a long length of time, you will get used to it, maybe try exercising your ankles to give more movement and flexibility to able to hold that nearly fixed position of the right ankle, and try getting that right ankle warmed up and fully flexed before a driving lesson.

Good luck!!
