I have just had an allergic reaction to sticky plaster in hospital. What is the best thing to use, the skin is very red, raised and itchy where the plaster was. Thanks all ! I am putting drops in my eye after a cataract op, so don't want to use anything with drugs in, if possible.

Perhaps something containing Aloe Vera - this usually soothes most skin problems. Or maybe good old Calamine Lotion, this would help with the itchiness - cools the skin : )
Allergen from the chemist is good for me contains an anti-histamine, have the same problem, don't forget to mention it if you ever need a plaster again because they use a different type that does not cause allergic reaction.

I will -- its never happened before. Thanks !
Try micropore surgical tape available at chemists you will need something like melolin to use as a protective pad the chemist will be able to advise.
how funny - I had blood tests on tuesday and they put a bit of cottonwool and sticky plaster where it bled a bit,and by dinner time I had a red raw raised strip under the plaster.
