p.s. this does not constitute an answer ... lol
Awww don't be mean :(
i count them by asking this question,
if i rang them up now and asked if i could have a lift somewhere, and the answer would be no problem
then they would be a true friend
also would you ring them up, as many friends i have i would'nt
You don't.......Until you need them. I know what happened (havinmysay, i hope I'm on the right thread) but everyone has different things going on in their life. They may love you but something more exciting has happened. The novelty wears off but a true friend will always be there. If that makes sense?

True friends are constant where as other friends come and go. True friends will forgive!
I think Ummmm has said it as clearly as it can be said. True friends forgive!!!!! Don't expect to find many. I have been around sixty years now and have found but one. I was lucky enough to get her to marry me.
unfortunatley i lost my best mate in a bike crash 5 years ago, you dont realize you have a "true" friend untill they aint there no more!

as curlyfilm said, a true friend is someone you can ring when you want something, but also a true friend is someone you can ring when you dont want something!!

i miss my mate on a daily basis,i still talk about him, and when i am in trouble i call him all the things under the sun for not being here!!!!

i have read you have a little problem with your friend, but if this friend was your true friend you will get over this problem, if she aint and you never speak again, its no loss!!
RB....You gave me goose bumps
And cry a little actually.......My aunty died in a bike accident 10 years ago....She was a good friend.

Life too short havemysay....Don't argue xxx
ummmm....i hate talking about it on here, i dont talk about it to gain sympathy off anyone, but sometimes we need a little shock in life to put us in the right direction, it would be a shame to let silly things get in the way of a best mate!!

i was lucky to have a best mate who i didnt have to see on a daily basis nor did we always hang out, he had his mates aswell as me having mine, but we were always best mates through and through, if he or I needed anything ,and i mean ANYTHING at all we were there!!

life gives you your cards and its up to you how you play em HMS, so if she is a mate and wants to go out with someone else on saturday............be a friend and be cool about it!!!

thanks RB and im sorry to hear about your friend.
The thing is i wouldn't have minded if she just said can we make it another week but to read that she would rather go out wi someone else and were ''gonna try and get out of it'' was pretty hurtful.
she also said a few other hurtful things like ''u have many mates but few friends''
You know what RB....I would never cuddle anyone until she died (She was hit by a lorry) Until other members of my family forced me. They said 'we never had a chance to say goodbye, so every goodbye may be the last goodbye' And it's true. You never know whats around the corner! so make sure that the people you love know you love them!
Beside's my hubby, I have 2 friend's that I've known since we were teenager's and they're always there for me as I am them. We've laughed and cried together, brought up our kids together and seen them leave their nest's. If one of em needed help I'd be with her asap, likewise my other friend. Another good thing is,all our hubby's are mates as well. We're now all pushing 60 and often look back over the years with affection. 1 or 2 solid friend's is miles better than half a dozen "Fairweather Friend's" I think.
How r u feeling now, havinmysay, now you've had time to sleep on it?
Usually because at some point we've had a disagreement and worked through it. It leaves us knowing where our boundaries are with each other so that we won't ever cross that line again. I also know that my true friends are there for me if my whole world falls apart.
One of my 'true' friends E, left another chunk of home made bread pudding in the porch this morning - on her way to work.

She's one in a million, bless her & we're always there for each other.
Bread pudding! Is there anyway I can become her friend? I've not had a nice piece of bread pudding in years!

hi makemesmile im feeling alot better thanks still angry at her but im not prepared to make the first move i no i might sound like im overreacting but it really did hurt.
Anyway iv just had my hair done and i feel great :-)
I used to love my Mum's home made bread pudding makemesmile, so my friend kinda took over after she passed away in '96!

I have to say, although my friends is delish, it'll never quite beat dear old Mum's!

I have lots of siblings & we all used to congregate in the scullery, watching Mum cutting it into squares, licking our lips & waiting for a corner or edge of it!

(The same as we did with her massive Yorkshire puddings).
Hope you'll soon be feeling better havinmysay - nothing like a bit of pampering to cheer you up!
Good for you havinmysay! Keep your chin up! : )
