have you ever "hidden" food and disposed of it later when you have been served something you really dont like and dont want to offend the person who made it? i am a master at such a trick :)

I dont think ive done that as such, but when i was a kid and my mum used to cook meat and it was way too chewy and youd be chewing for about an hour hah and she wouldnt let me go until id finished my dinner i used to put it all in my mouth and spit it down the toilet hah!
Oh yes, many for the wrong reasons but have plenty of others!!

Has your mum been traumatising you with gravy again babe?

Made the mistake of being overly polite to my potential inlaws at the time and pretending i liked fruit in salad (urgh!!!) not thinking i'd be given a large amount of it in the future them believing i liked it!!!

I remember a soiree do they had and there was some horribly dry expensive champagne, one of those events where your glass gets topped up whether you like it or not, stood next to the plant pot for quite a while that night.

When meat was being carved (exe's dad was always head of the table and carved the joint) he would ask me if I would like anymore. My token response was "I'm fine thank you" to which he'd reply that he didn't ask me how I was he asked me if I wanted anymore and then would give me more anyway.

I remember being given a whole dish of whole prawns once and making the mistake of asking my ex how to get into them, His answer consisted of breaking their neck and back and sucking their brains out and such. Needless to say it put me right off and I endd up trying to serrupticiously feed them to him or sneak them into his bowl all night.

My dishy older brother used to stalk me with canapes too refusing to move til i took one, think they were trying to feed me up!!!

To be fair though most of the food there was amazing homecooked stuff esp sunday lunch, a real treat!

OMG!!! Sorry got a bit carried away!!!

angus has rescued me on many an occasion :)
yes bob. when a small person, used to visit my two elderly aunties on a sunday for tea. every week they would prepare tongue sandwiches along with battenberg cake. i hate them both (food - not aunties, they have both long since passed away) . i used to hide the aforementioned sarnies and cake in my clothes and slip upstairs with the pretence of wanting to use the toilet...climbed on toilet (lid down) and deposited items in overhead cistern.god knows how many sandwiches and pieces of battenberg must have gone in there !
Not only did i have a gross dislike of the food...but it was always prepared well in advance of our arrival - say breakfast time maybe, so all the sandwiches (crusts off, of course) had curled somewhat at the edges !
It is still a huge mystery to my sister and I, how the preparation occurred because in about 20 years of knowing my aunties, we never once saw them walk. Really - it is true.
I'll tell you once I've tried your eggs bob ;)
yep! loads of times, got caught out once though when the main meal was a sort of fish pie (urggh) when i thought they weren't looking i shoved it on the dogs dish , the dog immediatly gulped it down and i sat there feeling all smug, five minutes later the bl***y dog puked it all back up! it was obvious it was the fish and i was the only one with nothing left on my plate!! boy did i leave in a hurry, didn't show my face round them for ages.......:-D
