Help! My son went to his dads at the weekend as usual. His dad(my ex) has just called me to say that he has been to the doctors this morning and he has got threadworms, and thought I should know in case my son shows symptoms. What are the chances that he has caught this from his dad??

Quite possible if they've been in close contact.
Looks like you will be best to treat him anyway Pink.

Heres hoping that if your son has them, he got them first and gave them to his dad as a leaving pressie!! Cant think of anything he deserves more :)

lol @ redcrx.
Thanks Jenna. They sound horrible dont they. Im sure he hasn't got them yet as they sound really itchy(yuck) but I think I will ring the doctor anyway and see if they will give him the medication. Hope ex has a really bad case of it - lol.
Im in town for the nest couple of days so will keep an eye out when i drive past his shop for a guy pulling his kecks out of his @rse and itching.
How about putting a sign outside his shop saying @dont buy any chairs from this man'?
Very common and nothing to worry about - one Ovex tablet from Boots sorts everything out.

pmsl Red!!

Quizmonkey - oh right,I didn't realise you could buy the tablets over the counter,I thought you had to go to the doctor. Thanks for that. : )
Hi PinkFizz, I cant tell you how distraught I was a few weeks back when I discovered that I had them! I was devestated because I have never had them before and felt so dirty!! I went to the chemist and got a pack of four tablets one for me and the other three for my husband and two kids. I have since discovered that over half of my extended family have had them at some point before and they are really nothing to worry about, I was the laughing stock of them all because I was so upset by the whole thing! The chances are that one of the kids has passed it on to me or you can get them from fruit and fish and a whole load of other things. I know its easy for me to say but now I know that there really is nothing to worry about, try not to worry yourself. x
