I had the police knock on my door last night. They told me that my elderly neighbour had a caller earlier on in the evening who posed as a police officer, entered her house and then proceeded to walk out with her handbag. It's just disgusting that somebody has the gall to do that and to pick on an elderly lady at this time of year. It makes me so angry.
I'm staying at a friend's house by myself at the moment and it's meant to be a really nice area. It's a terraced Victorian street so I'm just amazed that somebody would choose a built up area like that.
Has anybody had anything similar happen in their area?
Hmmm, it was probably a bag head. they have the gall to do anything. they dont care who their target is, but they generally prey on old people. It wouldnt make any difference what sort of area you live in these days. I know its xmas but there is only 1 way to deal with people like this, and thats the vigilante's...
my Grandad suffered a similar fate a couple of years ago. Believe me, half the village were out looking for the ****. We had a description of the car and were out trying to find him. Police were less than useless (although there wasn't really anything they could do).
I guess it's kind of a good thing we didn't find the bloke, or I wouldn't be here talking to you now. Unless you can access AB from jail.
Of course you can access AB from jail Bob. You'd also have your own ensuite bathroom and a pool table and your choice of a la carte menu every day. And don't forget about the Christmas presents from the wardens!
It's a good job you didn't catch your father's burglar, as he would have sued you.
You forgot to mention they have to be called sir, and all the free training and vouchers when they get out of prison, and you forgot to mention all the other perks they get. but i dont wanna get anyone wound up...
I caught a snippet on the regional news last night about a plucky pensioner in Lanarkshire who fought off intruders to her house who intended to rob her. Apparently the first chap who appeared at her door was a bogus worker who was flustered when she asked him to produce ID. It didn't stop him barging in her house though and this was quickly followed up by a man posing as a policeman saying that he had apprehended a burglar in her bedroom. When the old woman tried to reach the phone to call the police , they knocked her out of the way but undeterred , she crawled through their legs and hit the panic button in her home which alerted the police to her danger. Poor old soul. I couldn't help but think though when I heard this that she was incredibly lucky that they did not harm her. I admire her tenacity because although i'd like to think that I would battle with any intruders to my home , I think that I would freeze with fear and just let them take what they wanted. You can replace possessions but not a human life. Good on her all the same.
