Does anyone do things which make a difference to the lives of others, donate to charity being money, clothing etc.., do charity or voluntary work, sponser a child, animal etc...
Is there anything you feel you could do to make a difference, if so, what could you do?

But i can clearly see you do your "voluntary work" for self satisfaction, as anyone reading your posts can see how you come across as wanting to sound like a mother teresa, as you do in all your posts. I give to charity anonymously, and i make sure i only donate to certain ones.
I would never donate to charities abroad as they never see the money. My charities are all medical related.

awww how nice of u to compare me with Mother Teresa..didn't really like to say it myself!
With all work you have to get some sort of self satisfaction otherwise you wouldnt do it, even with voluntary work. Why would i set up a local gymnastics group for kids when i have no interest in gymnastics..?
As for sending money abroad i totally agree with you. I wouldnt send money abroad, was simply saying i travelled to Ghana and helped with kids over there..if u want to bring Mother Teresa into this and compare us then so be it...

MrBen, I am of the opinion that you are at your happiest when you put your fingers in your ears and sing the la la tune. The question is about making a difference, if you are of the opinion that voluntary work doesnt make a difference then you are clearly more deluded than I had originally perceived. Your humour suffers as a consequence.
If you dont like peoples opinions, then, in your own words: Dont Read Them.

i run a music club for kids part time teaching them how to DJ, MC, play an instrument or sing. I approached my local council and asked them if they would provide me with a venue and i would do the rest. They did and i have been doing this for a year. I love helping out kids with something to do and its great fun. I get DJs coming to teach them, hilarious MC competitions which are really awful and singing instructors. It costs me more than i make at times but only a little bit and worth it. Who else can walk through a town and have 25 14 yr olds come up and say 'alright shannon, how r ya. whats happening next week' etc i love it and would do it full time if i could but it doesnt pay
I donate to the WSPA - Can't stand seeing dancing bears or any animal cruelty.
I live in a town centre so see lots of homeless people on the street, I often make them tea and give them food.
I should do a lot more tho, your question has inspired me Jenna1978, might make a pledge with myself to do 1 good selfless deed a day.

I look after & ring the bells at our Parish Church, I ran a Scout Group until they decided I was too old. I stand a watch at our local coast-watch. Looing out for others who use the sea. I am a member of the RNLI & empty the collecting boxes locally. About 5 times a year my wife & I act as wardens at our Scout Campsite.
hi there, just a quick note to naz_nomad,
Crossroads is a human charity and so is Mcmillan Nurses and we worked closely with each other when cancer was the issue. Both are charities and I can assure you that all money raised went to training and caring for people who otherwise would have been left to die in an undignified manner in hospital. We gave one to one care, and that is where the money goes, aswell as small helping aids for us such as slip sheets etc.
